Author, producer, engineer and designer, Stuart "Dinky" Dawson is a legend in the music industry, a true innovator and visionary in the field of sound -- in fact, rock as we hear it today has been profoundly influenced by Dawson. WEM sound equipment he helped design was used and preferred by the British Invasion acts of the mid- to late-1960s, and he has worked with artists from the entire spectrum of music, including the Modern Lovers, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac (for whom he served as tour manager and sound engineer), Liberace, Miles Davis, the Pousette-Dart Band and New Kids on the Block. He founded the Dawson Sound Company, which, among other innovations, created the first acoustic suspension sound system. He also installed sound systems at Boston's Paradise Rock Club and the Channel. Dawson penned his memoirs, Life on the Road: The Incredible Rock 'n' Roll Adventures of Dinky Dawson, with co-author Carter Alan, in 1998.
