Farrenheit

Two members of the Boston trio Farrenheit first crossed paths as members of the Joe Perry Project: Charlie Farren was that band's lead singer from 1981-1982, and Dave Hull was bassist from 1979-1982. A few years later, they got together with drummer John Muzzy to form Farrenheit, eventually releasing a self-titled album for Warner Bros. They got airplay on radio as well as MTV thanks to three singles from that album -- "Fool in Love," "Bad Habit," and "Lost in Loveland," and became the opening act for Boston on their lengthy 1987 summer-fall tour. One of those gigs was in front of 80,000 people as part of the Texas Jam at the Cotton Bowl. But the band was generally known, as a Boston Herald article once put it, as "'80s bar rock kings." Farren still performs regularly as a solo act, and the band, as of 2010, is still getting together for shows all over Massachusetts. |
