Jeff “Skunk” Baxter
![]() |
Ace guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is best known for his crazy chromatic solos while a founding member of Steely Dan, a onetime part of the Doobies Brothers line-up, and an in-demand session guitarist who heated up Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff.” But he also has a Boston pedigree. He was a member of the 60's Boston psychedelic outfit Ultimate Spinach during the band’s last days. He is also a successful producer (Nazareth) and has 17 gold records, eight platinum records, and two Grammy Awards to his credit. Baxter’s non-musical gig is nearly as impressive. He’s recently served as a defense analyst and consultant to Congress. (by Dean Johnson) |
